Iconic Snapshot: Dylan Wang Shares the Frame with Idol LeBron James at the 2024 NBA All-Star Weekend

Actor Dylan Wang, from China, had a “magical start to the year” when he recently got to meet basketball icon LeBron James at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis during NBA All-Star Weekend.

Today, February 19, the 25-year-old shared his pleasure on Weibo by sharing pictures of himself with LeBron, 39. Dylan even had a signed jersey.

The meeting is captured in a video that can be found on the official NBA Doyun account. Dylan is seen giving LeBron a dap and staring at him with big eyes. LeBron asks Dylan how to spell his name and if he wants him to autograph his jersey. After that, they snap pictures. Dylan is seen fidgeting and flashing his jersey when LeBron leaves, appearing to be in shock. His hand goes up, he buries his face in the jersey, and he exhales with relief.

A supporter wrote about Doyun: “Dylan was very obedient throughout the whole process and did not dare to move or get excited, he held it back.” Another commenter on Dylan’s Weibo post said, “I can’t imagine how happy and excited you were at the moment, your ears are so red.” Some said Dylan’s achievement was a “dream come true” and made jokes about how their idol was more adept at chasing stars than they were. Not only was Dylan in the US rubbing elbows with his favorite athletes, but he also participated in the All-Star Celebrity Game, representing LeBron with a number 23 jersey.

Actor Quincy Isaiah, former NFL player Shannon Sharpe, and rapper 50 Cent served as Team Shannon’s coaches. Players on the team were Canadian YouTuber-host Lilly Singh, racing driver Conor Daly, and actor Quincy Isaiah.

Rapper Lil Wayne, basketball star A’ja Wilson, and Team Stephen A, led by sports journalist Stephen A. Smith, were their rivals. Backstreet Boys member AJ McLean and American singer-actress Jennifer Hudson were on their team.

Dylan merely entered the game as a substitute in the second quarter, but his eight points quickly won over the spectators. Midway through the third quarter, he made a comeback to the game after being benched once more in the latter part of the quarter.

In just 21 minutes of play, Dylan scored 18 points, good for third place on his team and a recordaong Chinese celebrity All-Star players.
